Japanese Naval Dirk.

A Japanese 1883 Pattern Naval Dirk. Commissioned officers model. Used up to 1945. In excellent condition.
This example is a mid war tanto with a wood mekugi
peg and plastic on handle, this was used instead of
fish skin because of its scarcity. In mint polish, has a
non traditional forged blade with a stone applied false hamon.
This is a very fine example of this kind of dirk.
