A set of Type 98 Shin Gunto mounts on a wood
(tsunagi) blade. Shira Saya resting mount with a Japanese restored blade. Blade is unsigned Bizen period, circa 17th century. The blade is in superb condition.
The mounts are in excellent condition, one tear to leather catch. An excellent example.

Japanese Shin Gunto Mounts.

A set of Japanese Type 98 shin gunto mounts.
Have been top quality at one point but now faded and worn. The hilt has faded and dirty binding and a monkey hands Saurute loop. A post 43 plain brown tassel. All seppa ,tsuba and locking catch matching numbers.
Scabbard needs restoring, has large patches of rust and some original paint.
Leather cover needs restitching.

Japanese Aikuchi

A Japanese Aikuchi, (dagger). An ancient (Koto) pre 1600 blade, mounted in 19th century mounts. Has a two Kanji inscription, Kane Sada. Several generations used this name. Needs more research.
Has a gold laquer saya, shakudo and gold leaf fuchi kashira and a signed Ko-gatana.
The blade is in bright condition with some fine scratches and the a small break to the tip.
